Please please read this post:

http://bookshop.livejournal.com/1056528.html

It makes me so disappointed and sad.

I just bought 7 copies of the original hardcover with its non-white washed cover.

I'll give one to anyone who can't afford the book.

ETA:
I'm also giving out one copy of: Magic Under Glass by Jaclyn Dolamore
The cover is gorgeous!

Also, pretty much giving away on a first come basis.

All gone! :D

July 16: Shipped out the books! Everyone should have gotten an PM with the delivery confirmation or I commented and deleted it with the info for those I couldn't PM.

I saw your comments on [personal profile] bookshop's post. I can't afford a hardback copy, but I would still like to support the author as much as possible. May I PM you my address, and maybe compensate you for the cost of the paperback?

No need for compensation though. I did buy the hardcover copy, but it was a bargain sale. I'm not sure if the regular hardcovers are any different, in the sense of helping out the author. I'm still happy that people are being exposed to the books, so I don't mind giving these out at all.

Well, I got the idea from you!

I really love your book reviews by the way. I never would have read Silver Phoenix or Forest of Hands and Teeth otherwise.

Sure! Hm, which would you prefer? There's actually eight comments on the post right now, so I figured I'll spread them out among you guys. The person below you also wants either one.

I came over from Aja's post. I would love either of the books if there are still copies left. I was hoping to get both of them, but my budget ended up unexpectedly tight this summer due to the patheticness of my student loans.

Seriously, it is so, so awesome that you're doing this.

I can't afford the book, being unemployed, but if you still have a copy, I'd love one. I'll happily spread the word either way, though.

OH HO HO. I already have a copy, surprisingly.
BUT I did want to ask if you had ever read The Rejectionist?
www.therejectionist.com
She wrote something about this today, and she usually has good coverage of race!fail, gender!fail, and the like. Enjoy! And this is a fucking awesome thing you are doing here.

Yay! I'm glad you do.

I've never read them before, but I just read the post where they wrote about this issue. I'll have to keep up with her.

Have you read Magic Under Glass (http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Under-Glass-Jaclyn-Dolamore/dp/1599904306/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1278055577&sr=8-1) by Jaclyn Dolamore?

I haven't yet, but I took this opportunity to buy it and an extra copy. It sounds really interesting. The cover was originally going to be washwashed, but people pointed it out and it was changed to its current fabulous cover.

Hey, no problem! I don't really post much on my journal. With YA novels, most of what I learn about, I learned from bookshop (http://bookshop.livejournal.com/) mentioning them.

Hah, I am too. Romance isn't really my thing, but it just sounds like a cool idea.

Ack! I missed out. D; I've been dying to read Magic Under Glass but haven't managed it yet. (The wait will make it an even more enjoyable read though, I'm sure!)

Thanks so much for doing this! I love seeing the generosity of people in situations like this, and hope that everyone who gets a book from you sincerely enjoys it. ♥

Aw, thank you! I hope they enjoy it too. ♥
